Not Very Happy With JeffCo Road Work
Posted on Nov 2nd, 2014

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, Jefferson Cty. Road crews have been busy during October doing repairs our street.  I wasn’t very happy with the way it appeared and was talking to one of the road crew about it.  He assured me that this kind of work on the road “edges” (call patch-back) is usually done before a total resurfacing of the road so it will look better after they do the resurfacing.  He provided me with a card for Carlos Atencio, (303)271-5244 the Supervisor Road & Bridges for District II-South for Jefferson Cty to get more info.

Since the end result is now a patchwork of asphalt with cracks, gouges and unevenless, I thought it would be a good idea to get more info about when the total resurfacing would be done.  I was surprised when Carlos Atencio told me the following:   Their department is running out of resources and time so that is all is going to being done.  It will be reavaluated later this winter but currently our neighborhood is not scheduled to be overlayed/resurfaced anytime in the future.

I sent an email to the county commissioner for our District II, Casey Tighe at commish@jeffco.us (phone is 303-271-8525) with my concerns and hope other residents will do the same.  The roadways should reflect the quality of our neighborhood and the Jefferson County side should look as good as the Arapahoe County side.

Thank you,

Julie Crowl
