DKB Terminates Normandy Estates Trash Service

DKB has notified the NEIA board that they are cancelling trash service to the neighborhood.  Service will terminate at the end of October.
 
DKB has cited increased operating costs, more than an average number of late paying customers in Normandy Estates, difficult and rude residents, and a recent change in strategic direction as the reasons for this change.
 
Despite numerous attempts by the NEIA board to work with DKB on this matter, DKB has made it clear that the decision is final.  The NEIA board is very disappointed with this decision and DKB's refusal to work with us to create a smooth trasition plan for the neighborhood.
 
Therefore, all Normandy Estates residents who use DKB will need to find a new trash service before November 1st.
 
Given the extremely short notice, the board will not be providing a preferred replacement service at this time. 
 
The NEIA board will be drafting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau regarding DKB. 
 
If you are a DKB customer and are unhappy with this transition, we encourage you to also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at http://www.bbb.org/denver
 
DKB’s Service Termination Schedule:
  • 9/23 – accept no more sign-ups
     
  • 9/26 – invoice for this service cycle will be for October only
     
  • 10/1 – DKB Letter on service change – email only
     
  • 10/15 – Non payment will be an automatic cancelation
     
  • 10/27 – Last trash and recycling collection
     
  • 10/30 - Rental trash and recycle container collection day - (If rented containers are not collected on 10/30 you will be charged $67.50)
     
  • 11/15 – Send refunds
